Southern Illinois University in the '80s and '90s was a blast and Carbondale was home for us while we attended.

Few of these establishments remain, the rest are etched in history in this classic painting from SIU Communications Major Norm Smyth. I started painting during quarantine and found a great subject for my first effort on canvas.

The digital link will be emailed to you upon purchase. I will leave in personal space a spot for you to attach.

Salukis this would look good in any space in your house while bringing back so many memories. What a conversation starter it will be .

Cheers fellow Dawgs

General: Is your art licensed?

No, our art is not licensed by any league, team, or institution.

Our work certainly includes trademarks and we respect the rights of the intellectual property holders who own these trademarks.

Hopefully you would agree our art is indeed art. We have a unique style that we use to express how we bring these designs to life. We frequently turn down requests because they aren't consistent with our style.

We believe the the rulings from the following cases protect our right to produce and sell our art.

ETW Corporation vs. Jireh Publishing Inc.
University of Alabama Board of Trustees vs. New Life Art Inc./Daniel Moore

We do believe there would be value in obtaining licensing. Many fans would feel more comfortable knowing that a product is licensed. While we may eventually pursue a licensing agreement, we do not believe that our art requires licensing based on the legal precedent set in the above cases.

There are some designs which we will not make without first obtaining licensing. These include American military seals and service insignia. While the cases listed above suggest that a license would not be required, the Department of Defense and various branches of the military have programs for obtaining licensing to use their trademarks. Out of a deep respect for our military and concerns for national security, we will never produce these designs without first obtaining licensing.
